International Women’s Day 2022

The theme for this year for International Women’s Day was #breakthebias, so we hosted an event for Women’s Day where almost 180 women, and their families came to PARCA to celebrate this day!

PARCA’s line up for the event included, a few words from the female Afghan caseworker with translation in Dari to encourage the ladies to follow their dreams, an Egyptian lady to recite the recipe for success in Arabic and English, a Metal Health Nurse to encourage ladies to speak up, the young female youth MP to explain that age is just a number, and wonderful Bollywood dance performers to encourage the ladies that they can do it all! We also had ladies from Metal Peterborough who showcased their display of work for the first time at PARCA!

This was all followed by a wonderful buffet meal provided by PARCA as well all the ladies from different cultures who brought in food for everyone to taste!

We wanted to ensure that the women of our community feel valued as they are working so hard.
