Skills for Life and Employment Training
This project supports refugees, asylum-seekers, migrants and the long-term unemployed to develop their work related skills and improve their employability. To qualify for these personal development courses you must reside in Rock Road (010A), Lincoln Road (012C) or Park Road (014E) in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
This training based project can help to combat the effects of isolation and attempts to tackle cultural, social, and economic disadvantage. The project provides support to: help gain employment, train in work related skills, and to develop an effective CV. It offers organised community activities, vocational course tasters and accredited courses in: First Aid, Food Hygiene Level 2, and Health and Safety.
The project also provides monthly sessions on community innovation & civic participation, and further information on important aspects of life in the UK (e.g. policing, driving). Furthermore, it encourages people to volunteer with local community based organisations and projects.
